More than 30 supercars took to the Gold Coast streets and the driving force behind the operation says the “unforgettable” experience raised more than $20,000 for charity.
Her Supercar Life founder Rachael Reid held her annual Sunset Run event, where more than $20m in supercars travel through the Gold Coast Hinterland and finish off by shutting down Oracle Boulevard in Broadbeach.
“It is an unforgettable experience,” Ms Reid said.
Hundreds of Gold Coasters gathered at Broadbeach to take photos with some of the luxury cars.
The cars included a Lamborghini SVJ spider, Lamborghini Huracan, Lamborghini Ultimate Roadster, Lamborghini Haracan Evo, Ferrari 812 GTS, Ferrari 296 GTB, Ferrari 488, McLaren 720 S, McLaren GT and McLaren 675 LT.
The event raised more than $15,000 for Gold Coast based charity, Livin – a program designed to break the stigma around mental health.
“The response we have had throughout the course of the Sunset Run has been phenomenal and we look forward to bringing more events while helping drive out the stigma around mental health.”
Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate said the event was for a “worthy cause”.
“It will boost our local economy and showcase the Gold Coast and South East Queensland as top-tier, premier destinations for luxury events,” Mr Tate said.
