As founder and executive chariman, Con has been the driving force behind the Makris Group since 1982. Con immigrated to Australia at age 16 with an unyielding work ethic and entrepreneurial mindset. Today, Con guides the Makris Group using those signature traits and an uncanny ability to identify opportunities.

His attention to detail, commitment to quality tenant experiences, and continued desire to create iconic destinations has helped the Group evolve into one of Australia’s largest family owned property groups. Today, Con works closely with son Jason and the rest of the team to continue the Group’s transition from its historial retail-centric approach to it's diverse destinational lifestyle vision.

Jason Makris

Jason Makris

Chief Executive Officer

Jason Makris commenced his career in property in 1999 with Jones Lang LaSalle where he developed a strong understanding of key property investment fundamentals. After 4 years as a commercial agent Jason recognised an opportunity in the hospitality industry. He spent the next decade as a food and beverage retailer, owner and operator founding multiple businesses.

In 2012, Jason joined the Makris Group as Asset Manager and established the Group's Queensland operations. He was instrumental in the formation and implementation of the Groups lifestyle destination precinct strategy which saw the successful acquisition of Marina Mirage and Oracle Boulevard assets on the Gold Coast. In 2018, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer where his responsibilities expanded into the group’s national asset and development portfolio.

Jason has grown steadily through the Group's ranks, giving him invaluable experience within all key factions of the business. In 2022, Jason assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer where he continues to leverage his 25 year experience across the property and development industry. He continues to lead the Group in its innovative strategy to deliver unique lifestyle destinations.

Chris Philippou

Chief Financial Officer

Chris’ career began with KPMG South Africa in its statutory audit division where he completed his training contract, qualified as a Chartered Accountant and continued on as an audit manager. After six years at KPMG, he transitioned into commerce, accepting a finance role at a large construction group. Over his 5 years at the group, Chris excelled and was quickly promoted to Head of the Finance Department.

With a wealth of experience in his field, Chris joined the Makris Group as Chief Financial Officer in 2018. Based in Queensland, Chris’ work is integral to our day-to-day operations and investment decisions. He uses his knowledge and expertise to guide process and structure, to forecast and manage cash flow and to produce feasibility models and strategies for the Group upon which investment decision are made.

Chris is passionate about the Group’s strategy to deliver unique lifestyle precincts in targeted Australian markets and continues to work with its stakeholders proactively to ensure its successful delivery.

Natalie Makris

General Manager

As General Manager, Natalie uses her deep knowledge and experience in asset management, property development and property auditing to oversee the continued growth and success of the Makris Group. Her authentic approach is crucial to the development of our unique strategy, while her comprehensive understanding of business operations continues to enhance the implementation of our strategic repositioning.

Natalie began her career at KPMG and since then, she’s worked in three countries across several sector-agnostic property portfolios, giving her broad experience across retail, commercial and residential opportunities. Before joining Makris, she rose to senior management positions at Knight Frank and Savills.

Her 2022 elevation to General Manager has provided her with an even better vantage point from which to implement her industry skills and knowledge. Natalie holds a Bachelor of Business and is a Licensed Real Estate Agent.

Rochelle Selkirk

Leasing Manager

Rochelle joined the Makris Group in 2016 as an Office Manager before taking on more responsibilities as a Leasing Administrator in 2018. Rochelle uses her extensive knowledge of our portfolio and tenants to cultivate and maintain strong relationships that span years. She actively coordinates with leasing agents, tenants and solicitors to ensure timely leasing documentation turnaround, and provides valuable executive assistance to Jason Makris.

Before joining Makris, Rochelle spent more than 10 years in property administration with Knight Frank and CBRE. She also holds a Real Estate Salesperson Registration Certificate, giving her a unique combination of insight, experience and knowledge in the industry.

Rochelle is passionate about being part of building unique opportunities for tenants, customers and communities alike. She works with the Makris Group team to create a range of experiences for the Australian market – from everyday conveniences to elegant dining opportunities.

Alex Jeffries

Group Financial Accountant

As an experienced and qualified chartered accountant, Alex Jeffries joined as Group Financial Accountant in October 2022. She began her career in business services at KPMG before stepping into the property industry at Vantage Property in 2015. After working in various property management and development companies in Victoria, she moved back to Queensland to work with AVID Property Group.

Based in our Queensland office, Alex supports CFO Chris Philippou in everyday operations. Alex is always working to ensure the team has up-to-date and relevant information on our financial position. Her timely and accurate processing of this data allows the Makris Group to make informed decisions and plan future acquisitions and investments.

Alex enjoys being part of a team that is implementing such a unique strategy, and loves the Group’s strong focus on building relationships with stakeholders, assets and their communities.

Patricia Azevedo

Accounts Payable Co-ordinator

An experienced procurement and property administrator, Patricia joined the Makris Group in 2018. She’s responsible for our day-to-day invoices and payments, bank reconciliations, record maintenance and financial reporting, and for retaining our strong contractor relationships. Her attention to detail is invaluable in supporting the Group.

Patricia began her career in credit control and accounts receivables for New Zealand and Australian retailers. She then spent two years as a school services officer within the South Australian Education Department. Returning to corporate roles, she joined the Procurement & Property department at ECH – Independent Aged Care, and then moved to the Gold Coast in 2017 to join the Makris Group. Patricia is also a qualified Justice of the Peace.

Patricia is proud to be part of an inclusive team that works together to bring unique opportunities to communities around all Australia.

Executive Assistant / Office Co-ordinator

As an experienced executive assistant, Serene supports the team to deliver exceptional outcomes across their many roles. She brings over 15 years experience supporting executive teams in Australia and leverages her passion for real estate in her day to day role.

Serene obtained her Queensland Real Estate license and relocated to the Gold Coast in 2021 before joining the Makris Group in October 2022. She is a crucial cog in the office’s day-to-day movements, from maintaining our positive office culture to creating an efficient workspace.
